True Happiness & The Compassionate Mind
The compassionate mind is a place within the self that exists in a state of peace.
It is free of judgements towards the self and others. It is a place of positive thoughts and intense happiness.
True happiness can be defined in two ways; mental and physical.
It is the mental which asserts the most influence.
Unless we are ill or lack the very basic needs, our physical body plays a secondary role in life. If the body is happy, we virtually ignore it.
The mental field, however, registers every event in life, however small.
The majority of the mind activity in this sense operates from the solar plexus region; this is the area of the compassionate mind which we all need to work on.
The Centre
Self-centredness inhibits our love for others.
It is the personality-self that tries to keep us separate and centred around the self. It is the development of the solar plexus, in terms of the mind-centre, which takes us to the next level of consciousness.
How do we develop this? It is a case of using the events of our daily life to transform our beliefs and behaviour.
Karen’s Energy of Anger
Karen struggled with her emotions. A person who had never really had any responsibility outside of herself she was in a constant state of wrestling with her emotions. Many people in her life found her to be very aggressive although occasionally humorous. Most waited for the humour to surface in the hope it would stay. Her friends got to see her funny side but those more closely associated with her life were the ones experiencing the aggression. Karen knew she was in this place and would be mortified each time someone actually spoke up and highlighted the varying emotions.
She asked me what she could do about it. She wanted to know how she could handle her insecurities that led to the aggression. When I looked into her energy I saw a very intuitive and creative person who had suppressed these abilities with the harsh energy of anger and resentment.
Karen was not best pleased when I highlighted these energies and her old insecurities arose. She became really quite aggressive. I sat there and, in my mind, offered out the feeling of non-attachment to her behaviour and forgave the intensity of her aggression. I did not mention one word, I just sat there offering the feeling. Within a few moments she began to sob, there was an out pouring of grief from the deepest parts of her psyche. She explained how alone and isolated she had felt. The compassionate mind cannot be anything else than a healing experience. Sometimes it is not about channelling healing in terms of light, it is about channelling what is already there, deep in ourselves the intense unconditional kindness of the compassionate self.
This part of our psyche is not something we have to force ourselves to obtain, it is already there. It is about developing a discipline to overcome the insecurities of the personality self.
We are programmed for affection. It is not natural to keep ourselves separate from ourselves and others as it creates pain in the psyche to the extent that it develops into a very harsh attitude devoid of feeling. When we begin to think bigger than ourselves, the compassionate mind is triggered.
Our Purpose To Be Happy
The Dalai Lama believes our life purpose is to be happy. We are not machine like objects, we consist of feelings and experiences. If life was meant to be mechanical then machines would be able to provide all our human needs. As it is, they will never fulfil that role.
Various companies have realised automated customer service systems inhibit rather than encourage growth. People want to speak to a real human being and will rarely tolerate the long-term use of talking to a machine. We are designed for connection; solitary children who spend too long in front of computer games are now having treatment for the impact this causes. It is not the same as children playing together. That is because the human experience is designed for connection. It is connection that triggers the compassionate mind.
The Compassionate Mind & Psychic Ability
Psychic skills and ability are most certainly linked within the energy of the solar plexus and the compassionate mind. In order to develop a deep understanding of your own psychic skills it is necessary to lighten the load of the mental mind. This means the process of moving from a ‘head’ based reality to a stronger body awareness and how you feel. The more confident you become in your own energy and how you work as an individual, the stronger your natural psychic skills become.
The ability strengthens to the degree that you are able to tune into any event, person or situation at will, and find the information and interpret it accurately. This is because the mental energy is quiet and when it is quiet it can interpret the subtlety of energy flow. The compassionate mind opens up to allow the expanse of all that is to flow through the energy of the solar plexus, as this happens we open to our deeper wisdom.
