What if you can’t recognise when you have been courageous?
You’ll know if this resonates with you because you always feel you haven’t really done enough. So you tell yourself off constantly when you really should be giving yourself a break.
You end up wondering if you ‘should have’ done something differently, or better.
The issue isn’t that you lack courage - the issue is that you’re numb to your feelings.
In this episode we are looking at
Courageous Feelings: Learning How to Feel Properly
You’ll discover:
Even if you “numb out” as soon as you start to feel too much.
First of all - what is the meaning of “courage”?
Courage in this instance is not taking a bungee jump or riding a high roller-coaster. These are adrenaline highs.
Courage here means a willingness to confront your emotions, even when you’re frightened.
It’s the owning of a truth, and a willingness to be wrong.
We’ve all been told we’re too sensitive at some point in our life. often when someone else doesn’t know what else to say, or are afraid to confront their own emotions.
Courage is so important because it allows you to accept what is happening, despite your fears. It takes away analysis paralysis and oversteps perceived limitations.
The easiest way to take courage is to know your feelings.
It’s important to define the difference between feelings and behaviour
Behaviour is the outcome of feelings.
We live in a culture where the focus has been on behaviour – “someone did this”, rather than “someone did this because they’re not acknowledging how they feel.”
Culturally, feelings have been an embarrassment, because they can be raw.
However, when they’re not understood, numbness rules.
What I found I got sucked into for a long time was skipping out of myself. When things go wrong it’s easy to zone out and go into numbness. You end up stuck because when you do that, nothing can be solved.
So what are three little things you can do to allow yourself feelings and courage?
It will take a few goes – BUT you will feel you can move into both feeling and courage
Remember it’s not about perfect - it's about PROGRESS

When the Orphan energy is active, you wait for the rescue that never happened, you feel lost, don’t know where you fit in, you settle for less than you want and you desperately want to go ‘home’ but you don’t know where home is.
The Orphan energy chooses you to create the ultimate rescue, the connection to the self, beyond self-abandonment and into interdependence, the safe, secure world of true self-esteem and value.
When the Lover energy is active, your soul is at odds with your careful ego. You live a life switching between conquering fear, taking risks and the excitement of your consciousness expanding, followed by flopping back into the safety of what you know.
The Lover energy chooses you to connect with your personal source of power that’s not a climb for position or authority, not a power over another but real power - the power within.
When the King energy is active, your inner world is conflicted. Each time you step into your own rules, you hear the voice of the King’s shadow – the tyrant suggesting you are less than, how you’ll never live up to expectations and the weakling ‘prince’ who doesn’t protect your new path.
The solution is to step into the energy of the true King, the matured ‘male’ energy offering centred, confident direction from deep within. The unconscious pressure to ‘fit in’ evaporates as you step into your own leadership. .
You’ve looked around, decided what you like, made judgements and now you’re going out on your own. Does what you want match with others or should you just become what you think they want?
This stage is answered through the process of Creating Your Own Values, by using your Queen Energy.
